How it works.

Standard patent licensing takes months, requires a team of lawyers, and costs six figures. Modulus eliminated everything that made patent licensing slow, painful, and expensive.

Five easy steps.

1

Submit information.

Complete a short application describing your company, your product, and how you use AI. The application takes about five minutes. No legal team required, and no upfront payment. Our system will review your application and you'll receive an approval notice within minutes.

2

Coverage check.

During the process, our system verifies that your product practices the claims of a Modulus patent. If your product qualifies, we proceed to the next step. If your product doesn't yet qualify, we tell you what would need to be present and you decide whether to adjust your product or pass. This step protects everyone. You don't pay for a license that doesn't apply to your product. The integrity of the program depends on this step being real.

3

Tier and terms.

Our system confirms your license fee based on your company's stage, size, and use case, among other factors. If the price works for you, you'll review and sign the standard agreement, which is the same agreement every licensee signs. If the price doesn't work, no hard feelings — we won't chase you with offers.

4

Sign and pay.

Monthly subscription is billed through Stripe. You'll receive an executed license agreement and confirmation within minutes of signing. Cancel at any time.

5

Ship.

Your license is active. You can immediately add "patented" and approved marketing language to your product, website, pitch deck, fundraising materials, and acquisition memo. Your investors and acquirers can request the diligence pack from us directly under NDA.

What your license includes.

A real patent license under issued U.S. patents.

Modulus's patents are real, issued, and verifiable through the USPTO. Your license is executed by Modulus Global, Inc. and grants you the right to practice the patented invention. This is not a marketing badge. It's a legal patent license, defensible in investor diligence, acquirer diligence, and any due diligence environment where IP positions matter.

Approved marketing language.

Your license agreement specifies the marketing claims you can make. The standard schedule includes "patented," "licensed under issued U.S. patents," "Modulus-licensed," and similar accurate representations of your licensing status. You can use these on your product, your website, your pitch deck, your investor materials, your sales decks, and your communications with acquirers.

Documented coverage analysis.

We document the analysis showing that your product practices the patent claims. This documentation lives in your IP file and is available to your investors' or acquirers' counsel under NDA. The documented coverage analysis is what makes the license defensible in diligence environments.

Acquisition transfer rights.

If your company is acquired, the license transfers to your acquirer for the acquired product line. The credibility you build today carries into your exit. The transfer mechanics are designed into the agreement from day one. Your acquirer doesn't need to renegotiate or extend.

Diligence pack on request.

When sophisticated investors or acquirers conduct IP diligence, they get access to a complete diligence pack that includes patent numbers, prosecution histories, claim analysis, chain of title, validity analytics, international examiner findings, and validity rationale. The pack is delivered directly to their counsel under NDA. Your diligence is handled by us; you focus on running your company.

Patent licensing details.

Each Modulus license is scoped to your approved product, application, and category reservation. Once approved, direct competitors cannot obtain the same Modulus patent license for the same application.

Approved licensees receive documented coverage and approved patent-backed positioning.

Modulus centrally manages the patent portfolio so licensees can focus on using their approved patent-backed position, while Modulus handles portfolio strategy, enforcement decisions, and patent office matters.

Your Modulus license gives you rights under the covered Modulus patents. As with any patent license, unrelated third-party patents remain outside the scope and are handled through your normal IP review.

These terms keep the program fast, controlled, and available without drawn-out patent negotiations.

Our operational principles.

Modulus runs a structured commercial licensing program for companies that want documented patent coverage and category reservation.

Voluntary participation only.

Companies apply because they want access to the program. We do not run mass demand-letter campaigns.

Structured pricing.

Pricing is based on the scope and commercial value of the requested category reservation. Approved applicants see pricing before signing.

Controlled disclosure.

Patent identifiers are disclosed under NDA to approved licensees and counsel. This protects the portfolio, Modulus, and all licensees from unnecessary public exposure.

Standardized terms.

Standard licenses use a consistent agreement so the program stays fast, predictable, and fair across licensees.

Confidentiality of patent details.

We do not publish patent identifiers in public marketing. Approved licensees and counsel receive full patent details under NDA, protecting the portfolio and all licensees from unnecessary public exposure.

These principles are what distinguish Modulus from traditional patent licensing programs and from non-practicing entities. We hold them consistently across the program.

Why the program works.

Traditional patent licensing was built for large companies, long negotiations, and expensive legal teams. That left most companies with two bad options. They could wait years for their own patents, or operate with no issued IP behind the product.

Modulus changes the model. Approved companies can license issued, top 1% patents covering AI through a structured monthly program with documented coverage, category reservation, and standardized terms.

This is not a badge or workaround. It is a real patent license from an operating AI company that uses, maintains, and expands its own portfolio.

As a result, licensees get patent-backed coverage without years of filings, and Modulus extends the value of a portfolio it already maintains through internal R&D, strategic acquisition, and active prosecution.

For your counsel.

New licensing models raise legal questions, so Modulus provides counsel with a structured review package that includes the legal foundation, sample agreement, diligence contents, patent disclosure process, and direct contact information for Modulus IP counsel.

Counsel can review the materials quickly once your application is approved and our NDA has been signed.
